Poupette

With its founders, I designed the families' journey, on mobile and desktop, for finding care for an elderly relative without getting lost: prices right in the results, the case file tracked in one place.

Poupette is a free service that helps seniors and their families find care: nursing homes, serviced retirement residences, shared housing, host-family care or home help. Experts support families all the way to the move; the service is paid for by partner facilities, not by families.

The families' journey

When a relative loses autonomy, the family has to find a suitable, affordable option fast, in a sector where information is scattered. The journey takes them from the first visit to the admission file, on their phone or their computer.

Two ways in, and an emergency line

Families often arrive in a hurry, without knowing which kind of care they need.

Two choices from the home page: take the free assessment or talk to an advisor, and an emergency number in plain sight. No need to know the facilities: the assessment asks for whom, what budget, how urgent, what autonomy; on desktop, one question per screen, the steps on the left. The home page that went live kept both ways in and the emergency line.

Prices right in the results

In this sector, the price often comes late, when it's the families' first question.

The monthly price on every result card, not at the bottom of the page: Poupette only lists facilities with transparent pricing. The card also shows availability, type, reviews and specialised units; three sorts (recommended, price, distance) are enough to compare. On desktop, the list sits next to a map.

One place for the case file

Once the facility is found, there's still an admission file, documents, an advisor and visits to fit in.

A secure space brings it all together: the file's progress as a percentage and a single button, Complete, then the appointment with the advisor, rescheduled in one tap, and the planned visits. The file splits into two forms, the caregiver and the person being cared for: the missing documents show at a glance.

How I work

  • Working it out with the founders

A three-day design hack with the founders, then working Saturdays, in the same Figma file: we took the topics one by one (home, search, facility page, budget, case file) and decisions were made together, on the screens.

  • Keeping the existing brand

The logo, the pink and the grandmother character already existed. I kept them and brought them into the product, far from the cold image of care homes.

Romain translated Poupette's universe into digital without ever betraying the brand. Sharp eye, quick execution, and real product sense.
